* 5 POST UTME Candidates Arrested For Examination Malpractice
By Precious Ogundipe
It's no news that the Olabisi Onabanjo University held its post-utme screening exercise on Monday 29th July, 2019 to Friday August 2nd, 2019. However, the major highlight of the exercise was the use of the newly constructed ICT building.
In an interview with the University Senior Computer programmer, Engineer Alamu Akeem Adelani he revealed that reason why the 2019 Post-utme exercise recorded more success was due to the fact that the vice Chancellor, Prof. Ganiu Olatunde Olatunji had provided enough equipment to increase the ICT from 250 capacity to 1000, with 750 computers currently in use.
He went further to reveal that a new technology and network has been put in place to ensure that there is no network fluctuation and destruction during exam. It was also revealed that there are seven (7) new servers unlike the single server that was used for previously written exams.
Alamu added that this is one of the reasons why the Post-utme exam ended early and candidates were able to write their exams hitch-free.
In the same vein, he affirmed that the development has drastically reduced the rate of examination malpractices as only 5 offenders were arrested.
Meanwhile, the University has said that a make up exam will be conducted for those that missed their exams on August 5, 2019. Candidates are expected to be at the examination centre by 7am.
As at press time, date for the release of results for the examination has not been concluded yet. However, an official told Campus Mirror that it should be expected on or before the end of next week.
