Former SOSSA Sport Director Leads Football Team To Victory At NYSC Camp

Abiose Rasheed, a former student of OOU who doubled as Sport Director of the Social Science Students' Association (SOSSA) could not contain the excitement that follows his heroic feat in sporting activities at his NYSC orientation camp in Ede, Osun state.

The Sociology graduate was a captain of a football team that emerged victorious in a tournament held at the NYSC camp last week.

Speaking with Campus Mirror, Abiose dedicated his contributions to experience he gathered in the posts he held when he was an OOU student. He further disclosed that he was involved in numerous camp activities which he made sure he represented the school passionately in order to show and promote the honor of OOU in the minds of other corp members.

"I contested for the post of Sport Secretary at the Camp, though I lost the position to another candidate and this was because I couldn't deliver manifesto as I would have informed the electorates of my experience in the administration of sport while I was a student.", Abioke said.

However, he added that the whole camp felt the presence and impact of OOOUites in the activities held in the camp.

"Fellow OOUites in the camp also supported me in my quest to promote the prestige of the school and I am glad that OOU is represented honorably in such a distant environment."
